Digital or screen printer?

Have you ever wondered what the differences between screen printing and digital printing are? If your answer to this question is yes, then you should further read this article to find out what each of these printing processes involves, and which one should be best for your company.

To start with, you should know that your decision should not be influenced by their price. Even though the prices of screen printers and digital printers can differ, you should choose the one that best fits your needs. Furthermore, you should not worry about not finding a company that sells such equipment since both of them are nowadays available even in areas such as Alaska, Anchorage, Barrow, Bethel, Fairbanks, Kenai, Seward, and even Soldotna.

The main difference between digital printing and screen printing is that the first one requires you to introduce the data required in the computer, and then it will be printed directly onto the printing surface. This printing systems does not use heat in order to create the required print, so you do not have to worry about damaging the surface.

On the other hand, when it comes to screen printing, the image is created using a set of stencils that are called screens. Using these stencils, the color is then applied to the printing surface one layer at a time, in order to achieve the final look.

This printing method is designed for those who print larger quantities, and also for those who want to obtain a high level of vibrancy. This happens because the ink layer is thicker, which creates brighter colors, even on dark surfaces.

On the other hand, those who print in smaller quantities, should choose a digital printer. This type of printer is also the one to choose for photographers since it can print high amounts of details, but keep in mind that it should be used on light-colored materials.
